• Click on the button Email/FTP on the left of your screen. Then proceed to clicking on Help to the far right of your screen. This will give you a detail description of how to Administer you Email/FTP accounts. Below is the Help screen:

Setting Up Email Accounts

To set up the email accounts for your domain, the settings below should be used for your username/login name, pop server, and smtp server. The smtp server setting is used only if you are using mpiNet for your internet connectivity; via T1, DSL, ISDN, or Dial-up.

• User Name has the format: username@yourdomain.com. For example, msmith@mpinet.com.
• POP Server: mail.yourdomain.com. For example, mail.mpinet.com.
• SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.com. For example, mail.mpinet.com.

Publishing Your Site

The transfer of files to and from a server through FTP, (File Transfer Protocol), is relatively an easy task. You can use FTP programs such as WSFTP or Cute FTP. If you have another program of your choice, it will also work. The settings below will assist you in configuring your FTP client.

• FTP Server or Host Name: www.yourdomainname.com. For example, www.mpinet.com.
• FTP Username for (Linux Hosting): username@yourdomainname.com. For example, john@mpinet.com.
• FTP Username for (Windows Hosting): username@yourdomainname.com. For example, john@mpinet.com. Only the first 20 characters of the username will be used on the Windows Hosting Platform. If your user name was superlongusername@mpinet.com, your username would be superlongusername@mp.

Once Logged in Via FTP

When logged into your directory using your FTP program you will see the directories in the image below on the right of the window. You want to upload your files into your root directory. Your root directory is located at www/htdocs. Once you have browsed to that directory, proceed to uploading your files.

If the directory that needs to be password protected falls below the root directory, the Virtual Directory Name is as follows: data/secure.
Relative Directory Path:

If the directory that you want to be password protected is in the root directory, just specify the directory name. For example, secure.

Keep the relative path the same name as the Virtual Directory. If the Relative Directory is below the root directory, specify that directory name then the name of the directory. For example, data/secure.

Create Directory This must be selected to create the directory
Anonymous User Permitted This must not be checked if you want the user to be prompted for username and password.
File System Permissions

Read must be checked if you want the contents of the password protected directory to be viewed. It does not have to be checked if you have Directory Browsing Enabled.

Write is checked only if you are allowing the user to Modify the contents of the directory.

IIS Permissions Read must be checked.
Execute Permissions Checked only if you have executable scripts in the directory
Enable Default Document Checked to enable the browser to display files of type index.htm, index.html, default.htm, default.html, index.asp, and index.cfm when the user initially logs in.

7c. Click on Finish, and the virtual directory will appear under Installed ValueApps.
